Connor's Pulminologist originally prescribed Flovent via an inhaler but I hadn't heard of many babies taking it and asked if he could take Pulmicort which we switched to and have been using for several months. The only problem is now he's freaking out and pulling the mask off his face. It's the longest 4 to 5 minutes of fighting with him to keep it on. I'm not even sure how much medicine he's actually getting.I'm thinking of switching back to the FLovent since it's so much faster but just wanted to know if anyone knew what the difference is between the two?

I know that the flovent inhaler has three meds in it...I am not sure about the pulmicort...I am sure you can google both and get info....Or get Amanda the "google queen" to do it for you:) LOL

I can't help you with the pulmicort but we use flovent and ventolin here. Are you using the aerochamber? It is fun to keep the kiddos down while you await those lovely 10 breaths or so isn't it?!

Lesley uses pulmicort for Catherine, I think.

Kim, we are on it. I have used it with both my boys and had no bad reaction to it. We administer it via spacer and they only need 5 good breaths of it. We even bought a new spacer and for most part Parker loves it.

We were initially put on a high dose and have weaned down twice and are now on a low dose twice a day.

His coughing at night stopped within 3 days and hasn't come back!

Over here it is the puffer the Drs will choose first.

I don't know if Pulmicort can be administered via aerochamber. We've only used it in the neb. Catherine's new ped (did I say I love him???) gave her an aerochamber today to use with albuterol but didn't also say Pulmicort came in an inhaler to be used with the aerochamber (which has the cutest little duck mask attached!)
