She's had no solids other than a bit of yogurt and two Ritz crackers in five days. Her perpetually red-ringed bottom is has lost all redness, and her sandpaper cheeks are almost soft and smooth. Except for the spot that's always rougher and redder than the rest of her face. Even it's significantly lighter in color and less rough feeling.

I think I'm going to try to keep her on formula only until she's completely well (this time!) and then add back one food at a time. May as well take avantage of the first clear[er] skin I've seen in months and months.

I am reminded of the Monty Python skit where they sing the "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life..."

Sorry, it just came to mind.

It is wonderful that she has such clear skin and a shame that she has to be so sick and unable to eat in order to acheive it.

Introducing foodstuffs one by one should definately give you some answers and it is so smart to take this opportunity to do so.

Actually, a friend just told me high, prolonged fevers magically clear up eczema for some unknown reason. Temporarily. My friend is extremely knowledgeable in these things, so burst my bubble! Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It's still probably a really good opportunity to run this experiment.

Really? I wonder why. I am trying to think back to when Curran and Walker had eczema and they had some pretty big fevers at times but I do not recall the patches going away. Mind you, I am looking back at it and did not make a note of it at the time.

No offense, but I hope she is wrong and that you find it is something like red dye #5 only causing her eczema.

That's just it ... she's never consumed anything other than fruits, veggies and baby cereal. And a rare yogurt.

That's what we had to do with Emma at one time. That's how we figured out the milk and soy were causing the increased nightwakings, eczema, stomach cramping, constipation, etc.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Eczema, from what I hear, can be as puzzling as GERD. I hope you find something that might be causing it. Good luck!
