Hello all,
I am new to the forums here. My son (will be 2 next week) has been recently diagnosed with DGE. He has been diagnosed with acid reflux and on zantac for over a year, then prevacid, and now prevacid and domperidone. His only apparent symptom is the nightwaking and the fact that a bronchoscopy revealed that his airways were severly damaged by the reflux. He is not vomiting, his weight is excellent (90 percentile). I was wondering if any of you have tried homeopathic treatments and if you had any success with them.
Oana.

Sorry I can't help you with that. The only thing that we've found so far to help with the DGE is Domperidone. As for lung and nasal damage from the acid, we use inhalers and Nasonex. Please let me know if you find anything!

We havent used any homeopathic treatments, we used bethanechol and erythromyicin simultaneously. Let us know if you find something, I would be interested to hear about it!

I do not know of any homeopathic treatments for DGE myself. If you find anything be sure to let us know as I am not aware fo any members who use anything other than the typical meds for this.
My youngest uses flovent and ventolin for his GERDy asthma and we are on zantac and prevacid for both my middle and yougest son here.

thank you for your replies! I will try to find if there are any homeopathic treatments for DGE. I only thought about it after we took a vacation down south (he was only on prevacid at the time and waking up 3-4 times a night every night). From the first night we were there to the last he had slept through with no problems. As soon as we came back he had started again with the constant waking. I asked the doctor and she said that an increase in the level of activity (he was chasing a ball on the beach from morning to night) helps with the DGE. Only problem is the weather home doesn't allow us to be outside all day long.
Domperidone helped, since he has been on it he is sleeping perfectly, however I would much rather find something more natural to give him. I'll let you know if I find anything. Thanks again for all your replies!
You say you took a vacation down south?? Was the climate different? Was the air different-could that be bothering him?? Did you ever try a humidifier???

We keep the humidifier working all night... Coming back from the trip we tried everything to recreate the environment(cranked up the humidifier, brought him back to our bed). I was even thinking of buying an air purifier machine, but then he started taking the domperidone and has been sleeping through since. Except last night when I forgot to give it to him and he got up twice :(

It is so great that you see a difference with the med!
We have found the humidifier to be so very beneficial here, especially when the kids are sick. We have one big one and a smaller one we plunk into the room of the diseased child and it makes a big difference.
